This odd looking photograph says a lot to me. Even though it is only a plant, it is a plant growing out of seemingly nothing. The brown around this plant signifies that life can grow from anything.
I enjoy watching how the plant seems to spread slightly across the ground as well as reach for the sky. It's as it it's trying to spread completely around all the cold dirt.
The fact that the area around the plant is not defined as anything exactly- for me it it difficult to tell the if it is dirt of some other surface- also symbolizes that the a plant can grow from anything anywhere.
This is a marvelous piece of work from a very talented photographer. I enjoyed it's stunningly beautiful simplicity.

Great work  I enjoy the simplicity of this, as it is often the simplest things that are the most moving and beautiful. Great angle and DoF, and I adore the muted colors. Great work sir ;)

Your words are very much appreciated! It's true, I find that the simple things are what really stand out as beautiful in life.
The DoF was hard to adjust at that angle because to press the camera up the monument like that, I could not get my head behind the viewfinder. But multiple trial and error works too.
Thank you muchly!

Gosh, you are so sweet! Thank you so much. It's funny how we've been commenting on each other's work for so long but never really talked. What is your name my friend?
